BOFURI – Because I’m Afraid of Pain, What’s My Defense Max?
Itai no wa Iya nano de Bougyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu is an anime adaptation of the best-selling light novel of the same name in Japan written by Yuumikan. The animated version made by studio SILVER LINK aired the first part in January 2020. Thanks to the unexpected success, the plan to release part 2 was announced not long after the anime season 1 ended.
Due to its long name, Itai no wa Iya nano de Bougyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu had an “other moniker” of BOFURI. In Vietnam, this anime is also known as Because of Fear of Pain, I Raised Max Defense.
Belonging to the video game genre, BOFURI follows in the footsteps of Kaede/Maple – a girl who has just started playing VRMMO New World Online. Playing the game but getting hurt, Maple decided to max the defense. The weird “build” turns Maple into a sluggish tank… but OP!

Information about anime BOFURI season 2
Thanks to the funny, unique and lovely story, BOFURI season 1 has received a very positive reception from the audience. Plans for part 2 were thus green-lit not long after. According to the plan, BOFURI season 2 will air in 2022. However, due to some force majeure reasons, SILVER LINK had to postpone the show to 2023.
BOFURI – Because I’m Afraid of Pain, I Raised Max Defense Part 2 will have a crew including:

- Hayami Saori as Kasumi.
- Satou Satomi as Iz.
- Satou Rina as Mii.
- Suwa Nanaka as Yui.

- Sugiyama Noriaki as Kuromu.
