No one knows who Dengji’s parents are. You know, when he was a child, his father died, leaving him in debt to Yakuza. The initial debt was not huge, but since the gang took their profits, even by the age of 16, Denji was like a cow and couldn’t pay it off.
On the day his father died, Denji met Pochita – who is now injured. He adopted Pochita, worked with the “little devil” to earn a living, and paid off debts. Denji used to be a lumberjack and hired a demon slayer. He even sold his organs to pay off his debts.
Denji lost his life after being betrayed and attacked by the gang. Pochita wants to save his life, so he becomes Denji’s new heart. This action brings Denji back to life as a hybrid with the ability to transform into a sawtooth demon. He was later recruited by Wrangler to join the witch hunt with two new teammates, Archie and Ball.

Because he lived in poverty since he was a child and has not received much education, it can be said that Denji is an extremely pure “child”. He does what he likes, pursues the ordinary, and never seeks anything. To put it bluntly, Toji is an idiot and always acts on his own beliefs.

Dengji’s strength
As a human, Danji is not that powerful. Poverty coupled with the loss of many organs made Denji very weak. Even if he wasn’t beaten and killed like in the first episode, Dengji would soon die of illness.
After merging with Pochita, Denji’s body fully recovered. Lost parts were also recovered. He now has a zipper on his chest that resembles part of a chainsaw. When pulled, Denji transforms into a saw demon, holding two chainsaw blades in both hands, one on top of his head.
In his demon form, all of Denji’s stats have increased significantly. He can use a chainsaw to cut through his opponents or split chains and bind enemies. During combat, Denji can continue to heal (even from fatal wounds) if there is an adequate supply of health. This ability later became “more powerful” – to the point where Denji could regenerate his entire body from his heart.
In addition to the power of the chainsaw, Chuanji later had a contract with the Gorefiend (the details of Rag will not be said to avoid spoilers). With this contract, Denji can use his blood to create a saw to fight, or manipulate his blood like a Gorefiend.
The power of the saw has a secret: any demon “eaten” by the saw will disappear entirely, rather than be reincarnated in hell. This ability makes the saw demon a terror to other demons.
